- What is this site all about? Why join Penpal Post?
Penpal Post aims to provide free service to people who want to find penpals, epals, chat mates, sms buddies and swappers from all over the world.
We do not aim for quantity but quality penpals so we screen every registration to filter out spams and bogus accounts. We also delete accounts that have not been logged on by their respective owners for 6 months to keep an updated penpal database. - Is this site really free?
Yes! There's no hidden cost. You can register and contact other members without paying a single cent. But of course, Paypal donations are always welcome ;-) - Do you collect and sell our submitted info?
No. Penpal Post does not sell any of your info. All the data you submitted are used only for the purpose of displaying your penpal ad on this site so that people would be able to contact you. But do remember that anyone can access these information online. We don't have any control on what visitors on this site will do with the said information you submitted. This is the reason why you are not allowed to put your phone number or postal address on your penpal ad.
Read our privacy policy for more information. - How do I edit my profile or delete my account?
Just simply login and you will see an option to edit your account immediately. - I forgot my password. How can I retrieve it?
Go to this page and submit your registered email address. An email message will be sent to you contaning your login info. - Why can't I login?
1. Starting April 6, 2008 we implemented a new site script. Members of the old database need to signup again. You may still access the old database using your old login info.
2. Are you sure your account was already approved by the admin? If your account is not yet activated you will not be able to login.
3. Are you using the correct login ID and password? Your login ID is your username and not your email address or first name.
4. Some people are having problems logging in using proprietary browsers like AOL and Compuserve; please use another browser like Internet Explorer instead. If you are using WebTV you will not be able to use our site due to its limitations.
5. If you still cannot login, empty your browser's cache and clear the cookies. Don't know how? Please visit these pages: how to clear browser's cache , how to clear browser cookies. - I already checked my email several times but I still haven't received the confirmation email.
Some email providers flag our confirmation email as spam. Please check your bulk/spam folder. Don't forget to mark it as NOT SPAM. If you are sure you did not received the confirmation email then please contact us and report the problem. - Why was my account not activated?
Because your penpal ad violates the Terms of Use. The following is a partial list of the kinds of content that is illegal or prohibited on the Web site:
- your penpal ad has adult content, seeking marriage, obscenity, etc.;
- advertising;
- business in nature;
- misleading or wrong information like putting your wrong location;
- solicits donations or financial help;
- shady intentions;
- garbled, nonsense description
- you're a dirty perv (there, I said it)
Please read the entire Terms of Use.
Or you probably did not followed the registration instructions. Did you post your mobile phone number? address? This is not allowed.
Take note that Penpal Post is not a dating site. It's mainly for people to find friends. - I used to be a member but now I cannot login and I cannot find my penpal ad. What's wrong?
Important: Starting April 6, 2008 we implemented a new site script. Members of the old database need to signup again. You may still access the old database using your old login info.
Accounts that have not been logged in to by their respective owners for 6 months are deleted. This is done to ensure an updated and working penpal database. Please just register again if you want to be a member again. - I can't send any message to a certain user. It says that I am blocked.
It means that the said member has added you to his or her block list and you will not be able to send them a message or a "smile". - Noone is sending me any messages.
You should probably spruce up your profile so people would take notice. A well written description and profile is better than just saying, "Hi. I want to have friends! Email me." You may also want to put up your photo. If all things fail, why not initiate the correpondence instead? Send a message to other members but don't get annoying and be aware of the type of penpal they are seeking (like age limit). - I received an objectionable message from another member.
If you received any message/email from other registered members that violates the Terms of Use (sexual content, scams, spams, advertisements, solicitations, etc.) of Penpal Post please do not delete the offending message from your Inbox so that we can review it. Contact us using the mail form found below this page and report the problem and the situation will be dealt promptly. You may also use the "report" link contained on the message. - Why don't you show our email address on our profile? It would be much easier for people to contact us, especially non members!
In our previous system, email addresses are viewable on profile pages for registered and logged in members to see. Although it wasn't viewable for non-registered members this was still not a good thing and many other members agreed and have asked for their email address to be private. Why? Scammers, spammers, unwanted individuals and spam bots can take your email address and email you. Who likes spam??? It was also harder for us to track members who aren't really genuine penpallers because we don't have evidence who sent the unwanted emails since they can just easily use another email account to send those.
With the new system, your email address is hidden (unless you mentioned it on your profile description!) and you can use the internal messaging system to communicate with others. You can easily exchange your email address if you want to continue writing to them using your own email account. This is the recommended way because we delete messages older than 30 days on the internal messaging system. And if you receive a message that violates our Terms of Use just report it to us and we will ban the user. You can even block a user from sending you a message. - What are swappers/traders?
These are people who want to swap or exchange small gifts or collectibles such as friendship books, lyric sheets, mailarts, cds, stickers or postcards.
